Coalition of Ontario Doctors held a press conference at Queen's Park to speak out against a back-room deal between the Ontario Medical Association and Ministry of Health. This tentative contract was rushed forward with serious breaches in due process with critical safeguards ignored. It is a tentative contract wrapped in vague political rhetoric that would further undermine patient care.
The Coalition represents over 19,000 family physicians and specialists from Concerned Ontario Doctors, Doctors Ontario, and nine OMA Sections (including medical, surgical, and diagnostic specialties).
Drs. Kulvinder Gill, David Jacobs, and Sohail Gandhi explain the dire situation facing doctors and patients because of the cuts and because of this contract.
Thousands of doctors across Ontario are calling for a public inquiry into the negotiations process. Thousands of doctors will be VOTING NO to this contract.
