Sand is the world's second-most exploited resource, as its demand has more than tripled in the past two decades. DW’s AA Umwelt project brings this exclusive from Goa, where although sand mining is banned, it is being extracted illegally from beaches, open pits and riverbeds. There are also solutions present in new innovations that can be incorporated by fast developing country like India.
