Top 15 largest empires in history

I made a list where I presented a short history of the top 15 largest empires by land area at their greatest extent. To be considered an empire, a state must be politically led by either a monarch, an emperor, or be an oligarchy. Some of these empires managed to take control of territory that spanned two or more continents.Here is the list of the greatest empires by landmass they controlled at their height:
