Описание к видео How To Brush A Dogs Teeth | Toothpaste, Brushes & Mouthwash, for Pets!

In this video, Dr Joseph Nemeth teaches us how to brush a dogs teeth. We invited a veterinarian guest on for this video, Dr. Brandon Young to give us some advice on how to clean your pets teeth.

Dogs can get periodontal disease just like humans do!

Its important to make sure your dog is comfortable with you touching their face, touching their mouth, their teeth and their gums. Its best to get dogs and cats used to this when they're young. When your pet is a puppy or a kitten they are much more likely to be accepting of having their teeth brushed.

Its important to try multiple toothpastes for your dog. You want to find a flavored dog toothpaste that they will like. If they like the taste and smell of the pet toothpaste, they will actually enjoy when you brush your dogs teeth.

Once they're comfortable with you playing with their mouth, face and gums. Then you introduce a toothpaste. Let them lick it off of your finger. Once you're certain that they like the toothpaste, then you can introduce the finger brush. Eventually you'll want to start using a toothbrush as they become more comfortable. Be sure to be patient and lightly massage your dogs teeth and gums! It may take some time to do proper dental care for your dog.

Its important to brush your dogs teeth every day if you can! This will help prevent calculus buildup, gum disease or periodontal disease, and tooth loss in dogs.

There are dog chewables that help reduce biofilm and dental calculus in dogs.

There are also dog mouthwashes that you can put in your dogs water bowl and it helps kill bacteria and make their breath fresh. However, the flavor is very important to make sure that your dog enjoys drinking it.
