We hope you are ready for a good time! In this video, we are enjoying one of the best, if not the best parade that happens during the Mardi Gras Season! This is the Intergalactic Krewe of Chewbacchus. We had an amazing time, between the Homemade floats, the homemade costumes, and the indulgence in Nerd Culture. You will see everything from Star Wars (Of course) to Sailor Moon. So Come along with us as we have an amazing time with THE SUPERIOR PARADE of the Carnival Season!

ABOUT IKOC:
The Intergalactic Krewe of Chewbacchus (IKoC) is a Mardi Gras parade organization for revelrous Star Wars freaks, Trekkies, Whovians, mega-geeks, gamers, cosplayers, circuit benders, cryptozoologists, UFO conspiracy theorists, mad scientists, and all super nerds.
OUR FORMULA IS SIMPLE: BACCHANALIAN REVELRY + SCI FI = BACCHANALIENS.
THE MISSION OF THE INTERGALACTIC KREWE OF CHEWBACCHUS IS TO SAVE THE GALAXY BY GIVING THE DISENFRANCHISED, SOCIALLY AWKWARD, AND GENERALLY WEIRD MASSES ACCESS TO THE MAGICAL REVELRY OF CARNIVAL. Chewbacchus is founded on improving the known ‘Verse through community and revelry. In joining together to craft, costume, parade, and socialize, we build stronger connections and a better world.
GREEN PARADING
We are the Future of Revelry. We are the first truly open source parade with an emphasis on DIY, homemade, and sustainable materials and practices. Any and all fandoms are welcome, and members can build almost any contraption to roll in the parade, as long as they can be pushed, pedaled, pulled, or electric-powered (particle propulsion accepted). We utilize tricycles, shopping carts, robotic power chairs, rickshaws, golf carts, and more.
SIGNATURE THROWS.
IKoC members create an impressive variety of handmade crafts for paradegoers, but some of our signature throws are bandoliers, “bando blocks” (signature collectible blocks to decorate the bandoliers), and pocket shrines for our Sacred Drunken Wookiee.
THE CHEWBACCHANAL
After rolling through the streets of New Orleans dispensing the blessings of Our Sacred Drunken Wookiee to the masses, Chewbacchus members attend THE CHEWBACCHANAL! This post-parade party is a place to reconvene with parade friends and members of the public to celebrate the evening’s march. The party features bands, DJs, and lots of goodwill. The public can purchase tickets to the Chewbacchanal, but entry is included in annual membership dues.
CHEWBACCHUS IS NOT JUST A MARDI GRAS PARADE ORGANIZATION.
We are also a religion and a 501(c)3 nonprofit. We are The Cult of the Sacred Drunken Wookiee, and our ministers regularly perform weddings and other religious ceremonies. Chewbacchus community service looks a little different each year, but we strive to extend our mission statement into the community, always valuing inclusion, literacy, and Carnivale culture.
