Many, many accidents and close calls have been caused by improper or neglected tyre care, whether it be the wrong pressures, excessive wear or knackered compounds.

Neglected tyres can also cost you a fortune in the long run, which is why it’s important to check your tread wear semi-regularly – doing so can tell you a surprising amount about the condition of your car.

Tyres very rarely wear perfectly even, most commonly due to incorrect pressures and/or poor wheel alignment.

Don’t just eyeball your tyres and call it a day, manually check all the wear indicators and carefully examine the full width of the tread, looking for excessive or uneven wear, possible faults and damage... it could save your life.
