Zakaat purifies the soul, increases wealth through barakah, strengthens society, and is a pathway to success in both worlds. What seems like giving away is, in reality, an investment with Allah.

Allah subhana wa Taala encourages believers to purify themselves as much as they can by giving out whatever they have in excess, whether it is in monetary means, physical means, or spiritual means.

Muslims are not supposed to hoard things. They should give out as much as they can. One of the best ways to purify our body and soul is to give our time, energy, wisdom, and any other things that we have in excess to those who do not have any of it.

Giving a blood donation is one of those sadaqas, or zakaat of the body and soul, that not only has medical benefits but also spiritual benefits.

Unfortunately, the younger generation that consumes junk food and other forms of filth pollutes their blood. This discourages them from being healthy and active, and their blood becomes toxic for donation to those who are in need.

We do not need to go to the Middle East or Africa to save children or underprivileged human beings. Wake up and look around you. Your own country needs your blood and financial aid. Wake up, before it is time for you to sleep permanently.
