Five years ago, I build my first Paulk Compact Bench from his plans for his version 2 bench system. I did not have access to lightweight plywood so it was standard A/C ply, 67lbs a sheet. I made it 7ft long instead of 6ft. My original bench clocks in around 100lbs, just the bench top.

Five years later, I have new plans for the version 3 SMART Bench and I have the ULTRALIGHT plywood, 51lb a sheet. I built the new bench per the new plans I bought. IS IT LIGHTER?......I mean REALLY LIGHTER? Did I reach the goal I set for myself all those years ago to have a truly light weight bench that is not a dreaded task to set up.

YEP. I hit it.
