What is Axis Long Term Equity Fund?
An open ended equity linked saving scheme with a statutory lock in of 3 years and tax benefit. The fund looks at opportunities across the market cap and the portfolio remains balanced between its large and mid-cap allocations. The fund is focused on long term earnings growth prospects and quality as key criteria for stock selection.

Eligible investors in the Scheme are entitled to deductions of the amount invested in Units of the Scheme under Section 80C of the Income Tax Act, 1961 to such extent (presently Rs. 1.5 lakh) and subject to such conditions as may be notified from time to time.

How does Axis Long Term Equity Fund allocate its assets?
The Long Term Equity fund looks for opportunities across the market capitalization to generate income and long term capital gains by predominantly investing in equity and equity-related securities. Under normal circumstances, the asset allocation pattern will be:
Equity and equity-related Securities: 80% -100%, risk profile: high
Debt and money market instruments: 0% - 20%, risk profile: low to medium

Investment Strategy for Axis Long Term Equity Fund

The Scheme will invest in a diversified portfolio of strong growth companies with sustainable business models. Though the benchmark is S&P BSE-200, the investments will not be limited to the companies constituting the benchmark. The portfolios will be built utilizing a bottom-up stock selection process, focusing on the appreciation potential of individual stocks from a fundamental perspective. The AMC employs a fundamentals-based research process to analyze the appreciation potential of each stock in its universe. The universe of stocks is carefully selected to include companies having robust business models and enjoying sustainable competitive advantages as compared to their competitors. The Fund will have the flexibility to invest across the market capitalization spectrum.
