EXPLORING THE FITZROY RIVER IN FULL FLOOD with the crew in little tinnies.

After big rains throughout the Kimberley, the Fitzroy river is in full flood at the moment so we set off with the crew with a few little tinnies and explored the flooded areas normally not accessible by boat! We also stop in at helmets hut for a look, which was a fella that lived on the side of the river for over 40 years! Helmet Schmidt was a barramundi fisherman before living his life out bush and lived to 89 years old. Only the remains of his shack and a few old cars are seen now. We also have a crack at getting some cheribin and barramundi.
