CERVICAL VERTEBRAE are the vertebrae of the neck, or the Cervical region. It consists of 7 bones, from top to bottom, C1,C2,C3,C4,C5,C6 & C7. Cervical vertebrae articulate with each other at the disc-vertebral body articulations. The 1st cervical vertebra articulates with the occipital bone to form the Atlanto-Occipital joint and with the axis bone forming the Atlanto-Axial joint.The most important distinguishing feature of cervical vertebrae is the presence of FORAMEN TRANSVERSARIUM in the transverse process
