What are voice controlled devices? In order to know how they could be used in businesses, it is first important to know what they are. Voice controlled devices are those which are used through the human voice and getting rid of the buttons, dials and switches. With these voice controlled devices, consumers can easily operate appliances with their hands full or while they are doing other tasks.

In this video, the voice controlled device we have here is the Amazon Echo Show, second generation device. Like any other device out there, you will find something that makes Amazon Echo Show unique and different than the others such as not only being a device that receives the sound and do the tasks, but it actually has a 10 inch screen on which you can watch videos on, and there is also the option of making video and voice calls.

Where is this going or how could it be used for a business? We just had Facebook announce Facebook portal which is coming into our homes as well, this will be a very similar device to Amazon Echo Show and it will also have a screen and will record you and you will also have video calls. What's unique about it is that you can position it in one location and it will follow you as you move around, which will be good for demonstrations, a share from the place you are in, or just talking to someone but adding a little bit of movement to the video. At the moment we will do that using an Osmo or Vivo or any similar devices.

With the Facebook portal, you can put Alexa into it and so you can actually voice control it too and the strange thing with that is obviously maybe a little bit uncomfortable thing is that we had some issues at Facebook and privacy and so we will need to wait and see how that will work out and how the public will react to this device.

Another voice controlled device that was recently launched is Google Home which is also a screen but there is a slight difference about it which is that it actually doesn't have a recorder so it's not going to have the ability of having a two-way voice or video call, you could only make a one-way call in which you will be able to see and hear someone calling but they will not be able to hear you in return. Google is more looking into changing the concept of calls and videos into a deeper thing that belongs to how people are going to use the internet and how they are going to search for things and brands online and it will also be related to the content shared on the internet.

According to our expectations and what we are seeing, we believe that in the future every single room will have a voice controlled device to which one could talk to that is connected to the internet and it gives so many more opportunities actually for businesses which is very good for the businesses since one could easily share what he/she is doing.

The good thing about Google voice controlled device for example is that if you are asking about a recipe for instance, it will immediately take you to YouTube in order to get the recipe that you want and if you want to play a specific song, it will also direct you to YouTube as well in order to hear this song there.

Voice controlled devices are making everything much easier and it is actually interesting that the three biggest internet players in the world are actually bringing hardware to our lives and homes and getting us to buy their devices through the offers they have, such as Amazon and their Amazon Prime, there is also Google friend from YouTube and other properties, and eventually we have got Facebook which of course will attract people through getting them in relationship with everyone who uses Facebook - which is probably a huge amount and you could event check the statistics through this link (   • Social Media Statistics - Digital Marketin...  ).

It would be very interesting to see how these devices are going to work out with people or if they have already purchased any of them.
