The primacy of democracy is a sacred cow in the west, something NATO nations will go to war to protect. But democracy was designed and thrived within a certain social, technological and historical context and no system is perfect.

Frequently, discussions challenging democracy deteriorate immediately to attacks on communism or autocracy but the future relies on something new, post-democracy, which aims to take what has worked about the system, discard what has not, and bring new insights.

Our systems of governance affect literally billions of people and as a result, small improvements can have monumental and compounding benefits. Therefore, I believe engaging in discussion and experiments around this field are one of the most important things we can do.
