The bad news:
We are sinners. Heaven is a perfect place and requires perfection, a standard we can not meet.

Romans 3:23 (KJV) For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Sin must be judged, and the punishment is an eternity in hell.

Romans 6:23 (KJV) For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

The good news:
God loves us and doesn't want anyone to go to hell. He loves us so much that He sent His only son, Jesus Christ, who is God in the flesh, to live a perfect life and die in our place. He was crucified on a cross and shed His blood to pay for all of your sins, was buried, and rose again on the 3rd day for your justification. The moment you trust Him and His finished work alone for your salvation, you are saved forever.

John 5:24 (KJV) Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
