The National Defence Academy (NDA) is getting ready to welcome female aspirants in the upcoming entrance exam cycles, owing to the Supreme Court's interim order on the ongoing issue of allowing women candidates to join the prestigious defence academy of the country. Only male candidates were previously eligible to take the NDA entrance exam, but with the Supreme Court's recent decision, the struggle for women's long-awaited right to apply for admission to the prestigious National Defence Academy has finally achieved success. Following the Supreme Court's recent ruling and the Armed Forces' decision to allow female aspirants to join the NDA Khadakwasla, the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is likely to include both male and female aspirants in its future notification for the NDA entrance exam. Eligibility Criteria for Girls to Take the NDA Entrance Exam

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will soon release the official notification for the NDA-1 2022 exam cycle, which will include complete information regarding the eligibility requirements for female candidates who will be taking the NDA entrance exam for the first time. Earlier, in its previous notification for the NDA-2 2021 exam cycle, the UPSC has allowed only male candidates to appear for the NDA entrance exam which is scheduled to be conducted on 14th November 2021. Certain specific eligibility requirements for female candidates, such as nationality, age limit, and educational qualifications, are expected to remain the same as for male applicants, however, physical and medical standards may be relaxed for the female aspirants.

Nationality: All Indian nationals including both male and female, within the specified age limit, will be eligible to appear for the upcoming NDA entrance exam.

Age Limit: The age limit of all female candidates who wish to join the National Defence Academy through the NDA entrance exam should be between 16.5-19.5 years. The detailed information regarding the minimum and maximum age limits for female aspirants is expected to be released soon by the Union Public Service Commission in its upcoming exam cycle.

Educational Qualification: Female aspirants who wish to join the National Defence Academy should have passed the 10+2 examination in any stream from a recognized board. However, those candidates who wish to join the Air Force or Navy should have passed the 10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics as mandatory subjects. The 12th appearing female aspirants may also be allowed to appear for the upcoming NDA entrance exam after satisfying the required eligibility norms.

Marital Status: Female aspirants who wish to join the prestigious National Defence Academy should be unmarried to comply with the rules and governing principles of the Armed Forces.
