Here's the latest MOD Alliance webinar with Dr. Natalya Gallo, marine ecologist and biological oceanographer at the Norwegian Research Centre (NORCE) and affiliated with the Bjerknes Centre for Climate Research and the University of Bergen.

In this session, Dr. Gallo explored how climate change is reshaping deep-sea ecosystems, with a special focus on:
• Blue carbon and its role in climate mitigation
• Expanding low-oxygen zones and ocean deoxygenation
• Implications for deep-sea biodiversity and sustainable ocean management
• How science can better inform policy at global and regional scales

Dr. Gallo holds a PhD from the Scripps Institution of Oceanography (UC San Diego), where she investigated how low-oxygen environments shape deep-sea fish communities. She has contributed to major Horizon Europe projects, including OceanICU and MARCO-BOLO, and is actively involved in international science-policy initiatives such as:
• The UN Decade of Ocean Science
• The Deep Ocean Stewardship Initiative (DOSI)
• The Global Ocean Oxygen Network (GO2NE)
