Joseph Francis Lamb is an American ragtime composer who stood out as the sole non-African American among the "Big Three" in classical ragtime, alongside Scott Joplin and James Scott. At a time when rags were losing popularity and jazz was coming into its own, a few brave or non-adaptive composers were still writing rags.

This song is one of 13 original Lamb's pieces posthumously published in 1964 by Belwin Mills: Ragtime Treasures Piano Solos by Joseph F. Lamb. This collection is a priceless, unexpected legacy, found among his effects by his widow, Amelia Lamb. These thirteen ragtime masterpieces, written, revised, and polished from 1907 on until his last illness, confirm their creator’s place among the immortals of American music.
