Objectives
(i) Assisting in further educating single female students exclusively in postgraduate programs and
(ii) Acknowledging the significance of adhering to the family planning guidelines.
Benefits

Eligibility
• Applicants must hold Indian citizenship.
• Eligible individuals are those who are the single female child in their household.
• Female scholars with no brothers or those who are either twin or fraternal sisters are welcome to apply.
• Candidates should be under 30 years of age when commencing their first year of a postgraduate program.
• Candidates must be enrolled in a regular, full-time initial year of a Master’s program at any recognized university or postgraduate institution.
• Applicants should be engaged in non-vocational academic courses and must attend physical classes at an accredited institution.
• It is required that the applicant is not obtaining their education through Distance Learning methods.
Documents Required
I. To be provided by the Student
• UIDAI Aadhaar Card
• Confirmation of enrollment in an accredited Master’s degree program at an institution within India, approved by the UGC.
• Joining report (according to the template provided in Annexure-I)
• Legal declaration regarding being the only female child (based on the template in Annexure-II)
• Bank Account Passbook (duplicate copy)
• Certificate of Birth or Secondary Education Completion Certificate
II. To be provided by the Institution
• Following the first year’s conclusion, institutions must submit a progress report detailing the candidates’ achievement levels in terms of percentage marks.
• After the first year is completed, the Institution Authorities must provide a Certificate of Funds Utilization.
How to Apply
Step 1: Eligible applicants must submit their applications through the National Scholarship Portal following the commencement of the application period and after an announcement is made on the UGC website.
Step 2: The educational institution where the applicant is enrolled must authenticate the submitted online application.
Step 3: Educational establishments admitting students into the first year of postgraduate programs are expected not to impose tuition fees on female students pursuing postgraduate degrees at Universities/Colleges/Institutions.
