This is an old live recording of the Sonatina - the only recording available on CD that I know of (label Casa Radio, 2013). Although acoustically this is not a great recording, it does serve its job as an introduction to this beautiful work, and to the sound world of Mihail Jora's late compositional style.
This is a very concentrated work, even for a sonatina; everything has been reduced to its essence, every note has its vital purpose. Not a drop of ink was wasted on the paper that carried the Sonatina - instead we witness a calligraphy of extremely personal music; the atmosphere is of intimacy, but the content is intensely intent, carrying the composer's almost raw language and feelings.
