Professor B.B. Lal wasn't just India's greatest archaeologist - he was a revolutionary who challenged colonial narratives about India's ancient past. From discovering evidence of Vedic civilization's indigenous origins to excavating sites mentioned in the Ramayana and Mahabharata, Lal's courage transformed our understanding of Indian history. He found evidence that many cultural elements we see today existed 5,000 years ago, e.g. sindoor, necklaces, spiral bangles, comb, pithu pieces, chess pieces, dice, kamandalu, plough, shivalinga, swastik etc. His son shares stories from his personal life and his juniors share lessons that we could draw from his work and extraordinary 100-year life, challenging us to question established narratives and find the truth in ancient texts once dismissed as mere mythology.
