Raat Ki Puriya. Pt. Bhimsen Joshi.

Yesterday while going through YouTube I noticed that there are very few Puriya Compositions ending with this drut bandish "Ghadiya Ginat Jaye". So I decided to upload the same on today's very special occasion of Pt. Bhimsen Joshi's Jayanti or 104th Birth Anniversary.

This recording is from a concert at Bandra held on 7-9-1984. We've Pt. Shashikant(Nana) Mulye on Tabla and Pt. Bal Mate on Harmonium. This is one of those last concerts in which Panditji is accompanied by Pt. Bal Mate.

Raag Puriya of Pandit Bhimsen Joshi is a typical Kirana Gharana style rendition which is the reason why I'm uploading it today.

The photo used in the video is irrelevant. We've young Bhimsen Ji accompanied by Eknath Thakurdas and Madhav Gudi.
