Built this custom pergola with glass roof and retractable shade over 2 weeks with my wife and dad. Daily work sessions, lots of problem-solving, and about £4k all in.

We handled everything from digging post holes to installing the glass panels and getting the retractable shade system installed. The glass installation was definitely the trickiest part - needed all three of us for that!
What we built:

Pressure-treated lumber frame
Tempered glass roof panels
Retractable shade
Concrete footings

Nothing fancy, just three people figuring it out as we went. Really happy with how it turned out - now we've got the perfect spot for morning coffee and evening meals outside.
