The illustration is from around 1912, "Night slid down" by Florence Harrison (1877 - 1955), published in Tennyson's "Dream of Fair Women and other poems"(1923). I translated /adapted my poem to English on the Fourth of March 2026:

Nighttime falls across the sky,
Stars are shining brightly,
And the yellow Moon sails by,
Passing every roof up high,
Gathering dreams then, nightly.

Children ought to be asleep,
Sleeping on their pillow.
In pajamas, brushed our teeth,
Ready for our bedtime treat,
We look through the window.

Moon boat sails in swirling wind,
Far beyond its gleaming,
We will sail into a dream,
Through our swirling thoughts we spin.
Stars are shining brightly.

**NOTES**
When translating from one language to another, something is always lost, and something added, as languages aren't congruent when it comes to words and meaning. This is not a word by word translation, but more of an interpretation. Still, I try to keep more or less true to content, and that means that the sentence structure, syntax and grammar in English may suffer as it is "adapted" to the Norwegian way of saying things. When using end rhyme, this is more noticeable. Also, the articles a and the are placed in front of the nouns in English. In Norwegian they are signified by -en, -et, og -a at the end of each noun (according to gender). This change disturbs the rhythm of the sentences and what syllables are stressed.

Stjerner lyser blanke.
Månen seiler, gul og stor
Over huset her vi bor,
Og vil drømmer sanke.

Alle barn skal sove nå,

Titter ut av rute.

Månebåten drar i vind
Bakom drømmens tanke.
Vi vil dra i drømmen inn,
Gjennom søvnens tankespinn.
