This is a rehearsal at Riad Lahboul, a guest house in Meknes, Morocco. Many ethnomusicologists talk of the musical and cultural link between Morocco and Cuba. In this percussion sequence, traditional and hybrid Moroccan rhythms are interpreted on Latin percussion instruments with an emphasis on the 6/8 and 12/8 rhythms that are so prevalent in Moroccan and North African folklore.
