Parts Demo: John Deere 2305 1323

This John Deere 2305 Sub Compact Tractor started and ran as it should. It featured a 24 HP liquid cooled Yanmar engine (3TNV76) and a shaft driven 62” deck and shaft driven transaxle. It had 1,323 hours showing on the meter. The serial number was LV2305H322253.

Details:

Engine:
The engine started and ran. There was an electrical problem in the wiring harness that sometimes caused the fuel shutoff solenoid not to open correctly. Because of that, we sometimes had to crank it multiple times, reset the solenoid connection, then try again. But no known issues with the engine itself. No visible oil leaks. The coolant system worked as it should with no signs of leaks.

Hydraulics / Transaxle:
The transaxle and hydraulic system worked as it should including the deck lift, 3 point lift, 4x4, rear PTO, mid PTO, and power steering. We were not able to test differential lock or the hydraulic remotes. The power steering cylinder appeared to have a slight leak, we're not sure of the source. The transaxle itself was leaking in multiple locations and we would recommend new seals for any part purchased from the transaxle. The transmission seemed to work as it should.

Electrical:
The electrical system had issues, specifically with diodes controlling the fuel shutoff solenoid and the flashers. No other known issues, though.

Deck:
The deck was in fair shape, all spindles turned freely and the shaft and gearbox appeared to be in good shape.

Body:
The front headlight assembly was broken. The upper hood had a dent in the front. The cowl between the hood and the dash was bent in multiple places. The side panels were cracked in a few places. The rear fender and footrest were in good shape.
