One thing that I felt I needed to mention. I am trying to be aware of how much my musical taste is influenced by black culture. As a white person, I feel a bit self conscious to appropriate it in this moment of deep societal transition. This reggae rendition of my song is a great opportunity to realize how indebted we all are to this cultural heritage. I am doing my best to not be blind to our cultural appropriation and white privilege.
