On March 23rd 2023, I set out to hike the Ullswater Way with my backpack & tent.


Usually a 20 mile route that some complete in a day or two, I decided to spread this over 4 days, plus an extra 'rest' day as I wanted to immerse myself in the Lake District and Ullswater as much as I could with my time off.


People often mistake hiking with finishing as quick as possible, almost as a race, and forget that they're there not only for the challenge, but to explore and adventure, and that's exactly what I did. I stopped to look, I took in the surroundings as often as I could, knowing that I wouldn't always get the opportunity to do so on hikes with stricter time restraints.


So, the four and a bit days did me perfectly.
