Outaouais Region - Mont Morissette, Véloroute des Draveurs, Coulonge Falls and more

We start with Mont Morissette where you can find one of the last preserved fire towers with an accessible one right beside to give you the feel and the amazing 360 degree view it provides. The old one has been impeccably preserved thanks to one man. Every town needs a Clément Tremblay. We're then heading to Véloroute des Draveurs, a 72 km bike path with two very different personalities. The first part includes an amazingly paved path riding along side the Blue Sea - a dream week end spot. The second part is very rustic as you are riding in the middle of fields - both have a nice vibe but very different. Because of rain our 3rd stop brings us to Ottawa to visit the Canadian National Museum of Nature. During our stay, the special exhibits were Under the Canopy - the Animals of the Rainforest which allowed me to finally see the small colorful frogs that I missed in Costa Rica; Owls Rendez-Vous and outdoor exhibition, a pleasure for all ages; Our Land, Our Art by in indigenous artists; and Wolves. Being in Ottawa, we took advantage our this time to visit Chaudière Falls which has just recently been opened to the public and in full residential development. Looks very promising.

We then headed to Fort Coulonge Park, a place we discovered which was not only a great spot for waterfalls but also a place where you will meet history and adventure.

There is more in this video and much more to see. So much so that we have planned a second visit and the end of August.

We hardly ever hear of this area, is it meant to be one of Quebec's best kept secret, who know, it's under our radar now.

More to come.....
