In this edition of BIH we bring to you the story of the destruction of an oil-bearing community in Bayelsa State of Nigeria in November 1999 by the Armed Forces of Nigeria under the command of President Olusegun Obasanjo then president and commander in chief of the armed forced of Nigeria. It was one of the darkest moments in the history of Nigeria. Houses were destroyed by soldiers. Humans were killed in their numbers. Children were caught in the crossfire and the community was left with scars that will be difficult to heal in many years.
