Have you seen the price of gold lately? It’s over $5000 an ounce.
I’ve got over $100,000 right here in my hand.
Actually, these are washers, and I’m going to show you how to adjust a snowplow so you can plow a gravel driveway without destroying it.
Each shoe has 20 washers. I’m going to put 14 on the bottom and the other 6 on top.
The more washers I put on the bottom of bracket the lower the shoe sits and the higher the plow will ride off the ground.
I want to raise the plow up so the edge is ½”-5/8 off the driveway.
This looks pretty good- let’s try it out.
The goal is to scrape away as much snow as possible, without taking a bunch of gravel.
If I push a little bit of gravel, I’m ok with that because I want enough showing through the snow that we get traction.
This washer system is genius. I’ve used plows where the shoes move up in down in a slot and are held in place by tightening a bolt.
In my experience, no matter how hard you tighten the bolts the shoes always move especially if you set the plow down hard.
Now I know what everyone’s going to ask… How come the New Guy didn’t help.
