The turquoise sparkle on this '57 Duo Jet may be pretty, but underneath the paint job this guitar is full of bad attitude. It has a slightly more aggressive voice than a typical Duo Jet, and that inspired me to no end when I picked it up. Its low-end has a beautiful twangy growl to it, and the highs have that lush Gretsch sparkle in spades. There's also a bit of vintage-style sag to the attack that gives way to beautiful blooming resonance. The bridge pickup has some really nice snarl and bite in the upper mids to go with punchy lows and jangly highs. In the neck position, you'll find warm, rich low--end along with roaring low mids and sweet, singing highs. Anyone seeking a raunchy Gretsch will love this serial!
