Doom II for the GBA is a port of Doom II that uses a completely different engine called the Southpaw Engine, The port is heavily censored and a result of the censorship all monster blood is green instead of red and most of the gore has been removed, Most maps have been modified to avoid slowdown, Medikits and Stimpacks are now counted towards the "Items" total at the end of the map, Enemies killed by explosive barrels, crushing ceiling, or from monster infighting are not counted towards the "kills" total at the end of the map, Armor in the game is somewhat broken as in armor only works in the map it was collected in even though the player technically has armor when they transition from one map to the next, the game will ignore the armor value, causing the player to receive full damage from attacks until an item that provides armor is picked up.
