Welcome to Bainbridge Island. Located only a 30 minute ferry ride from the West of Seattle, it’s a perfect tourist destination for people new or local. Getting here is easy. Simply go to the Colman Dock (Pier 52) and ride the ferry to Winslow in Eagle Harbor.

The territory is located in the Kitsap County and covers a total of 65 square miles, 37 of that being water. A great thing about Washington State is that it has so many islands to explore and discover, Bainbridge Island being one of the most popular.

Right after that, we decided to get some fresh air along the beach. We headed North towards Fay Bainbridge Park. It’s 17 acres of beach and plains.

Next, we headed to the Bloedel Reserve. Warning. It’s closed on Mondays. This is a giant 150 acre park. Prentice and Virginia Bloedel were the owners and they wanted to mix Japanese and Western ideas into one park. This resulted in the Bloedel Reserve. Over here, you have a large mix of native vegetation with horticultural plants from Japanese gardens.

There are lots of benches to sit on, well maintained trails, and amazing views that will keep you occupied.

Eventually, you’ll come across the Bloedels' French Chateau-style home. This place has been preserved as a visitor center and many elements have been left intact. It’s a beautiful site.

Walk around and emmerse yourself in nature! There’s even a Japanese style home here. The Chateau and Japanese garden are key points in this reserve. Enjoy the beautiful loop.
