Mdina the Old City

Описание к видео Mdina the Old City

Hello, and welcome of Welcome back to the channel. Today we're going to through the old capital of Malta, the walled city of Mdina. My two visits to this tiny island nation has proven that it deserves the name given to it during world war II “Fortress Malta.” It’s about 12 percent the size of the smallest American state, Rhode Island—has more fortifications than you can shake a stick at, including at least 50 major fortifications here, and on the neighboring island, Gozo.

The big three are the walled cities of Valletta, the Cittadella in Gozo--newly rehabilitated and which we'll visit next time--and Mdina. Let’s look at the fascinating walled city of Mdina, today on the Armchair Traveler
