Welcome back to SkylegacyTV! We all know what everyone goes to Hooters for….their excellent wings! But what if you could take those wings to the air on your next trip? It may be less farfetched than you think. Hooters briefly had an airline from 2003-2006. Those 3 years were quite a roller coaster. The restaurant chain launched an air service in 2003, and onboard every flight were two real Hooters servers. Because the servers weren’t certified, three FAA-certified flight attendants were also aboard every flight, and they were the ones who served food and drinks to passengers while the Hooters Girls aboard simply entertained guests. Unfortunately, they got into the market while airlines were still struggling after 9/11, jet fuel costs were rising and other low cost options took some of the market share. Despite the failure of Hooters Air, the 35-year-old Hooters brand continued to thrive.
