Canon Dance by Grade 4

Описание к видео Canon Dance by Grade 4

Pine Point’s 4th Grade dancers learned a sequence of movement which they then danced in canon. A canon is a choreographic device or structure in which movements introduced by one dancer are repeated exactly by subsequent dancers in turn. They also created their own canon sections in groups. The dance is performed to “Rochelbel’s Canon,” by the Piano Guys, a rearranged composition of Pachelbel’s Canon. That means the music is in canon, too!

Pine Point’s dance program, based primarily in creative movement, strives to assist students in preschool through 9th grade in developing an adequate degree of satisfaction in and mastery of their body movement for their own pleasure, confidence and self-esteem. By realizing the expressive and imaginative potential of their movement as well as the physical and athletic aspects, students can expand their range of movement by experiencing opportunities to explore, discover, invent, and develop different ways of moving. Though the creative process is stressed, it is also essential that students make dances for themselves and others, learn dances, and perform them.
