हमेशा भगवान विष्णु ही क्यों इस संसार में अवतार लेते हैं, क्यों नहीं देवों के देव महादेव और ब्रह्मा जी इस पृथ्वीलोक पर मानव तन के रूप में अवतरित होते हैं? क्यों हमारे पुराणों में भगवान विष्णु के अवतार की ही बाते लिखी गई है? आखिर क्या है असली वजह केवल भगवान विष्णु के इस धरती पर अवतार लेने का और क्यों भगवान विष्णु ने महर्षि भृगु की पत्नी की हत्या की थी?

After all, what is the real reason for Lord Vishnu incarnating on this earth and why did Lord Vishnu kill the wife of Maharishi Bhrigu?

Why Does Only Lord Vishnu Take Avatars on Earth?

One of the most significant curses in Hindu Puranic history is the one given by Sage Bhrigu to Lord Vishnu, which profoundly altered ancient Hindu history.

During a period when the Asuras found it difficult to defeat the Devas in battles, their Guru, Shukracharya, sought Lord Shiva's help. He performed intense penance to obtain the Sanjivani mantra, capable of reviving the dead, which would make the Asuras invincible. As Shukracharya meditated, he instructed the Asuras to take refuge at his father Maharishi Bhrigu’s ashram. Seizing this opportunity, the Devas, led by Indra, attacked the unarmed Asuras. In desperation, the Asuras sought protection from Bhrigu’s wife, Kavyamata, who used her yogic powers to immobilize Indra.

Terrified by Indra's immobilization, the Devas sought refuge with Lord Vishnu. To save them, Vishnu entered Indra's body. Enraged, Kavyamata threatened to incinerate the Devas if they did not leave. Instigated by Indra, Vishnu used his Sudarshana Chakra to sever Kavyamata’s head, thus saving Indra and the Devas.

Upon discovering his wife’s fate, Sage Bhrigu was devastated. Furious that Vishnu had violated Dharma by killing a woman, Bhrigu cursed Vishnu to be born on Earth multiple times, enduring the pains of birth and death as a mortal. Although Bhrigu later revived his wife with holy water from his Kamandala, his anger towards Vishnu remained.

As a result of Bhrigu’s curse, Vishnu was compelled to take numerous avatars on Earth, suffering worldly pains. These avatars include some of the most revered deities such as Rama and Krishna. Without Rama, there would be no Ramayana, and without Krishna, no Mahabharata or Bhagavad Gita. Other avatars of Vishnu, like Narasimha, Parashurama, and arguably Balarama or Buddha, have significantly shaped the history of civilization and scriptures.

हिन्दू पुराणों के इतिहास में सबसे महत्वपूर्ण श्रापों में से एक वह है जो महर्षि भृगु ने भगवान विष्णु को दिया था, जिसने प्राचीन हिन्दू इतिहास को गहराई से बदल दिया।

एक समय ऐसा था जब असुरों के लिए देवताओं को युद्ध में हराना कठिन हो गया था। असुरों के गुरु, शुक्राचार्य, ने भगवान शिव से मदद मांगी। उन्होंने संजीवनी मंत्र प्राप्त करने के लिए कठोर तपस्या की, जो मृतकों को जीवित करने की शक्ति रखता था और जिससे असुर अजेय हो जाते। जब शुक्राचार्य तपस्या कर रहे थे, उन्होंने असुरों को अपने पिता महर्षि भृगु के आश्रम में शरण लेने का निर्देश दिया। इस अवसर का लाभ उठाते हुए, इंद्र के नेतृत्व में देवताओं ने निहत्थे असुरों पर हमला कर दिया। असुरों ने भृगु की पत्नी, काव्यमाता से संरक्षण मांगा, जिन्होंने अपनी योगिक शक्तियों का उपयोग करके इंद्र को स्थिर कर दिया।

इंद्र के स्थिर होने से भयभीत होकर, देवताओं ने भगवान विष्णु की शरण ली। उन्हें बचाने के लिए, विष्णु ने इंद्र के शरीर में प्रवेश किया। क्रोधित होकर, काव्यमाता ने धमकी दी कि यदि देवता नहीं गए तो वह उन्हें जला देंगी। इंद्र द्वारा उकसाए जाने पर, विष्णु ने अपने सुदर्शन चक्र का उपयोग करके काव्यमाता का सिर काट दिया, जिससे इंद्र और देवताओं को बचाया।

जब महर्षि भृगु ने अपनी पत्नी की स्थिति के बारे में जाना, तो वह अत्यंत दुखी हो गए। विष्णु द्वारा एक स्त्री की हत्या करने से धर्म का उल्लंघन होने के कारण भृगु क्रोधित हो गए और उन्होंने विष्णु को श्राप दिया कि वह कई बार पृथ्वी पर जन्म लेंगे और एक नश्वर के रूप में जन्म और मृत्यु के दुखों को सहेंगे। यद्यपि भृगु ने बाद में अपनी पत्नी को अपने कमंडल से पवित्र जल छिड़ककर पुनर्जीवित किया, लेकिन उनका विष्णु के प्रति क्रोध बना रहा।

भृगु के श्राप के परिणामस्वरूप, विष्णु को पृथ्वी पर कई अवतार लेने पड़े और सांसारिक कष्टों को सहना पड़ा। इन अवतारों में राम और कृष्ण जैसे सबसे पूजनीय देवता शामिल हैं। राम के बिना रामायण नहीं होती, और कृष्ण के बिना महाभारत और भगवद गीता नहीं होती। विष्णु के अन्य अवतार, जैसे नरसिंह, परशुराम, और संभवतः बलराम या बुद्ध, ने सभ्यता और शास्त्रों के इतिहास को महत्वपूर्ण रूप से आकार दिया है।
