An elastic collision is one for which momentum is conserved and kinetic energy is conserved, while only momentum is conserved in inelastic collisions. A perfectly inelastic collision occurs when the object stick together after the collision and results in the maximum loss of kinetic energy.

Chad then shows how to solve several physics collisions practice problems. He shows how to set up the conservation of momentum equation for a collision, and how to set up the conservation of kinetic energy equation for an elastic collision. The first physics collision practice problem involves a perfectly inelastic collision. The second physics collision practice problem involves an inelastic collision. The third physics collision practice problem involves an elastic collision. The last physics collision practice problem involves calculating the speed of a bullet.
