A Walk Through Kamarpukur and Jayrambati

Описание к видео A Walk Through Kamarpukur and Jayrambati

The villages of Kamarpukur and Jayrambati in rural West Bengal are important because God was born there in the form of Sri Ramakrishna and Sri Sarada Devi. It is unlikely that these villages had changed a lot by the 1980s when Usha Ma took the video and photos. Villagers still lived in mud houses with thatched roofs and carried kerosene lanterns at night. Today, Kamarpukur and Jayrambati have become small towns with electricity and modern amenities.
