• As I mentioned earlier Safety #glass is used in Architectural buildings and general uses which is per IS 2553-PART 1

• Safety glass used in automobiles sector which is per IS 2553-PART 2

After conformation of Indian Standard is the scope of the grant of a license
The scope of license requires the following details

Firstly is your glass pane is Flat toughened / Curved Toughened or laminated

Toughened Glass

A toughened glass is known to have higher thermal strength, with the ability to withstand high temperatures up to 250°C. Toughened glass is difficult to break but in the event of a breakage, it breaks into small pieces which are less harmful.

While laminated glass is a type of safety glass that holds together when breaked. In the event of breaking, it is held in place by a thin polymer interlayer which is known as PVB (Poly-vinyl butyle)

The scope you have mention the thicknesses of glass for which you want the BIS licence.
The maximum thickness for which you can apply for grant of licence (GOL) is 25 mm.
Lastly the optional requirements, these parameters are optional as such you can get the BIS-ISI certification without these parameters too.

The following variables are included in the optional parameters;
• Surface compression
• Mechanical strength
• Four-point bending test
• Humidity test

The manufacture is require to install a in-house testing lab facility in the company and test all the parameter as given in the standard for conforming the quality assurance and accreditation of the product.

Make sure that all equipment’s which are installed in the laboratory should be calibrated with tracebility from a NABL recognised lab.

As per the new BIS GOL guidelines, this product is under simplified procedure which means Samples should be tested before and after the inspection. The test report which are received from BIS recognized lab is valid for 3 months only.

The specific information regarding the sampling plan,

For toughened safety glass,
As per the BIS guidelines, You have to prepare two sizes of the glass for Pre-testing and post-testing.
