Описание к видео Airbag hack for installing doors - Exterior and Interior

Airbag door install hack — quickly and safely lift, align, and shim exterior & interior doors using inflatable lifting bags. Time-saving technique, plus pro safety tips and common mistakes to avoid. 🔧🚪

In this video I show a fast, repeatable method for using inflatable lifting airbags to help install and align both exterior and interior doors. This is a tool-assisted technique that makes heavy doors easier to position and hold while you set hinges, shims, and fasteners — perfect for single-person installs or when you want cleaner alignment without wrestling the door.

*What you’ll see*
• When and why airbags make sense for door installs
• Exterior vs. interior door considerations (weight, threshold, weatherstripping)
• How to use the airbag as a positioning and temporary-support tool (NOT a replacement for proper hardware and mechanical supports)
• Common alignment traps and how to avoid them
• Quick tips for clean gaps, plumb jambs, and square doors

*Safety first — PLEASE READ*
This technique uses pressurized lifting airbags. Improper use can cause injury or damage. I do *not* show or recommend dangerous shortcuts. Before attempting any work:

Use airbags rated for the load and follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
Use appropriate PPE (gloves, eye protection, steel-toe shoes where applicable).
Never work under or near a load supported only by an inflated bag — use mechanical supports and blocks as secondary safety.
If you’re unsure about structural or load-bearing complications, hire or consult a licensed pro.
I’m demonstrating a method; this video is **educational**, not a guarantee of safe practice in every situation.

*Materials & tools (high-level)*

Inflatable lifting/positioning airbag(s) rated for the door weight
Hand tools for hinge installation (screwdriver, drill/driver)
Shims and a wedge set
Level and square
Protective blocks/cribbing for backup support
(Exact model numbers and step-by-step usage are in the video — follow product manuals.)

*Why I like this hack*

Reduces the need for a second pair of hands
Allows micro-adjustments for perfect gap and reveal
Faster installs with less strain on your back and shoulders
