Inside BKK Comics Art Festival 2024: Atsushi Kaneko, Thai Comics, & More!

Join us as we dive into the colorful world of comics at the BKK Comics Art Festival 2024, hosted by BKK UNZINE and Baan Nokkamin Foundation at the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (BACC)! We were honored to cover this exciting event on October 12, where local and international comic artists came together to showcase their work, including a special guest appearance by acclaimed Japanese manga artist Atsushi Kaneko.

This year's festival also celebrated a successful third collaboration with the Embassy of Belgium. We had the pleasure of meeting Belgian lecturer and comics researcher Nicolas Verstappen, who presented his experimental comics from Belgium and Thailand, tied to his academic paper, "THAI COMICS UNBOUND." His presentation brought a unique depth to the event, which was further enriched by the embassy’s delightful snacks and drinks.
