Race 2 of the final round of the 23/24 BMW Race Driver Series, held at Hampton Downs Motorsport Park.

This is the final round of the season and the top 4 drivers in Open B, Myself, David, Grant and Scott, are separated by fewer than 50 points. So we are all gunning for multiple weekend podiums to take the championship.

Had big expectations for this race. To keep my championship hopes alive, I really needed to win this race and things were looking good. I had a manageable handicap, the rain seemed to have abated, the sun was out and we all slapped our slicks on.

Then of course the motorsport gods intervened and as we were rolling to grid... it started raining. And in that moment, bascially all my hopes were dashed. We were all in the same boat, but I wasn't able to lean on the car and make use of my handicap advantage. And I certainly didn't know the magic tricks to find grip off the racing line that a bunch of the guys seemed to know. And ultimately I wasn't brave enough to make any real headway.
