How to Sew a Blind Hem on a Sewing Machine

A blind hem is a sewing technique often used on tailored garments such as jackets, coats, trousers, skirts and dresses. As the name suggests the hem is barely visible from the right side so a blind hem stitch is a great way to achieve a high, end professional finish on your garments without having to hand sew them. In this video I'll show you how to press and fold your fabric and how to sew it using both a standard blind hem foot and an adjustable blind hem foot. I'll show you how by moving needle positions with the standard blind hem foot and by using the gauge on the adjustable blind hem foot you can change the length of the stitch which is visible from the right side of the fabric. I'll also give you tips on how to achieve an even stitch and briefly talk you through the results on different fabrics.
