When there are neuropsychiatric patients that come in and we have to rule out autoimmune encephalopathy in a lot of these patients – many of them do have chronic variable immune deficiency, chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy.

They have all types of mold toxins, heavy metals, responsible for their symptoms – so we have to rule out when there is an autoimmune component and when these patients may need IVIG or eventually even subcutaneous immunoglobulin therapy.

So, the Cunningham Panel™ is fortunately a great tool for doctors to look at these antineuronal antibodies to find out who may be a candidate for IVIG.

It’s really the only Panel out there at this point to determine whether you need IVIG for autoimmune encephalopathies.

So that’s kind of where we use the Cunningham Panel™, is the patients who have neuropsychiatric illness where we’re looking for this autoimmune component and they may have immune deficiencies at the same point and we’re looking for approval from the insurance companies for IVIG – the Cunningham Panel is one of the ways we get it approved.
