Review:
I was really excited to get on the Eclipse from Never Summer—not just because it features their original throwback logo on the topsheet, but because the shape immediately checked all the boxes for what I like in a daily driver. With a slightly set-back stance and 10mm of taper, it promised to be a fun, versatile board right out of the gate.

From the very first run, I felt at home. I prefer mid-wide boards, and the 25.9" waist width on the Eclipse is pretty much perfect. It gives you the stability you want without feeling sluggish edge-to-edge. I think this width will work for most riders unless you’re rocking a size-12+ boot. On snow, the Eclipse feels responsive, stable, and a mid damp feeling—exactly what I look for in a board I can ride all day.

You will noticed the raised sections in the tip, tail and between the bindings. Never Summer’s new Precision Stitched Carbon Matrix is visually cool to see, but more importantly, you can feel it working. Instead of laying carbon in simple sheets, they weave and position the fibers exactly where the board needs energy and support. The result is a really dialed-in blend of responsiveness and smoothness. The Eclipse feels lively when you’re loading up a carve or popping off a roller, yet it stays calm and controlled when the terrain gets choppy. In my opinion it’s a smart, intentional use of carbon that adds power without making the board overly stiff.

I found the Eclipse to be genuinely fun in almost every condition. It’s easy to point it and let it run, and it handles speed confidently(expect some chatter in the nose). On groomers, it makes long sweeping turns feel effortless, but you can also drive tight carves when you push it. It’s surprisingly capable in the park, too—though the set-back stance makes it feel a little back-seat for true park riding, you can still hit jumps and rails without issue. And when it comes to powder, this board really shines. I only had a few deeper days on it, but every one of them was a blast—it floats naturally, stays predictable, and doesn’t require much effort, just let'r rip.

The Eclipse pairs this fun, directional shape with Never Summer’s Recurve Triple Camber Profile, which in my opinion is one of the best balances on the market right now. It delivers energy and edge hold(R.I.P. tech) while still feeling forgiving and approachable for intermediate all the way up to advanced/expert riders.

Overall Impressions:

I’d recommend the Eclipse to anyone looking for a daily driver with a slightly wider platform, a bit of setback, and some taper. It’s a smooth operator in almost any condition—floaty in powder, confident on groomers, playful on side hits, and capable in the park. Ride your normal size. The Eclipse is a rad all-mountain, freeride, and all mountain freestyle option that handles just about everything you throw at it.
