After watching this squirrel for over 15 minutes, I knew there must be a snake in this Marula tree.

The squirrel kept on vocalizing and so did the birds in the background. These are warning signals that there might be a snake nearby.

I decided to drive 100 meters up the road to a viewpoint to have a coffee and when I got back, I saw this.

A huge African Rock Python crossing the road. According to the size of the vehicle tracks width on the gravel road, He must have been over 4 meters or 12 feet.

Will the squirrel follow the snake to torment him and drive him even further away?
No. Not this time.

The Python's cover was blown -
A truly rare and exciting sighting as he harmlessly slithered into the grass, leaving the squirrel safe for another day.

Kruger National Park is a South African National Park and one of the largest game reserves in Africa. It is now part of the Great Limpopo Transfrontier Park, a peace park that links Kruger National Park with the Gonarezhou National Park in Zimbabwe, and with the Limpopo National Park in Mozambique.

The park is part of the Kruger to Canyons Biosphere, an area designated by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization as an International Man and Biosphere Reserve
