See description in '1: Helicopter rescu...' for the story. In this view, I've tossed my phone up to Andrew on the trail to get a view of the scene from above. Its as difficult to appreciate the dimensions of the canyon and the angles of the slopes as it is the hardness of the rocks, but I can say that its amazing everybody including the horses survived this incident. What looks like a bit of scree on the trail in the upper right is the start of the steep loose, knee-high stairs where the horses lost their footing. I'm at the bottom trying to shade PJ from the insane sun we had that day. The horse stopped rolling the the grass impression you can see about 6 feet straight behind me, and PJ originally fell about 4 feet behind where Mark kneels before she started crawling around an hour later.
