Los VASCONES se REBELAN contra el Reino de Asturias y Fruela I

Fruela I había ascendido al trono del reino de asturias y su reinado no sería fácil. Debería hacer frente a rebeliones, invasiones y conspiraciones en su propio palacio.

Tras la muerte de Alfonso I, Fruela I fue coronado rey de asturias y nada más tomar el poder, tuvo que hacer frente a una invasión musulmana de Galicia. Abderramán I envió a su hijo al frente de un gran ejército a Galicia y los cristianos fueron capaces de derrotarlo y decapitar al general.

Tras este hecho, los vascones se rebelaron y el monarca asturiano fue a reprimir este levantamiento y para apaciguar los ánimos, se casó con la vasca Doña Munia. A continuación tuvo que enfrentarse a una rebelión de Galicia contra el reino de asturias y a una conspiración en el palacio de Cangas de Onís, presumiblemente liderada por su hermano Vimarano.

Finalmente moriría por otra conspiración y sería sustituido por el monarca Aurelio. La muerte de Fruela I sería la primera vez que un monarca asturiano es asesinado por sus súbditos.
