Zeiss Ikon Contaflex Super B

I am more of a rangefinder person these days but one look and i could not resist snagging this sexy slr online for less than $30.00 USD

even though the light meter does seem to function, used sunny 16 while shooting the test roll. aperture seems a little slow to set the smallest aperture settings f22/f16 ... but plenty snappy enough for f11 or more open. my film speed was asa 400, so my shutter initially set to 1/500th so about 1/4 stop under exposing, but im setting the aperture to f11 and not f16, so about 3/4 stop over exposing and because later in the afternoon i dropped the shutter speed to 1/250

i was losing light fast in the late afternoon, so most of the pictures i was zone focusing with infinity set to f11 and the focus scale would indicate oo - ~10ft should be in focus

really fun shooting experience, maybe because sunny 16 and zone focusing let me concentrate more on composure as opposed to fussing with focus or tunnel visioned on the light meter when moving from subject to subject. i dont usually shoot test rolls this late in the afternoon, but that was fun too as different subjects had the light as opposed to the regular shot selections

please let me know in the comments how you think things turned out. pretty happy with now film tested camera. no signs of light leaks, so signs of film advance issues, consistent spacing between exposed frames

the decrementing exposure counter i was so captivated with didnt decrement accurately when film was in the camera either (didnt really think it would make a difference) lol 😂
